Acoustic suspension design
4” dedicated midrange driver
10” high-excursion woofer
1” aluminum dome tweeter
12 component crossover network
3/4″ MDF cabinet enclosure
3-position acoustic balance selector
Custom “Old-World Linen” magnetic grille with zinc logo
Accurate, Transparent KLH Sound
The KLH Model Five’s dedicated midrange driver is specifically designed to reproduce the mid-frequency band, resulting in remarkable clarity of vocals and instruments. Reducing distortion, the 10-inch woofer allows low-frequency performance to remain controlled even at the highest excursions. Last, but not least, the aluminum tweeter combines the virtues of accurate frequency response and dispersion characteristics that are smooth and natural.
Modern-Day, Retro Design
The Model Five’s “Old-World Linen” grille compliments the rich finish of the genuine mahogany veneer, giving this loudspeaker the mid-century modern look that stops you in your tracks. The magnetic, textured grille cloth is subtly decorated with a classic KLH logo made of cast-zinc in the lower left-hand corner.
Superior Acoustic Performance, Anywhere
The Model Five’s aluminum input panel on the back incorporates a 3-postion acoustic balance selector to tailor the loudspeaker’s output for the most difficult acoustic environments. Regardless, whether your listening room is too “live” or too “dead”, the Model Five gives you the ability to rebalance the loudspeaker so it provides the best fidelity sound in any space.
Unique Speaker Base
Standing strong on a 5-degree slant riser base, the Model Five’s upward angular stance ensures the sound is directed accurately toward the listener. The riser is made from powder coated 14-guage steel, guaranteeing it to be a very solid and non-resonant speaker base.
A Commitment to Innovation and Quality
Founded in 1957 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, KLH is a company of ground-breaking firsts and has created some of the best-selling speakers in the world. KLH stands behind their products with a strong commitment to quality and performance for years beyond the purchase. Henry Kloss, the iconic founder of KLH, was fondly dubbed by Wes Phillips of Stereophile Magazine as “The Man Who Changed Audio and Video – Time and Time Again”. He co-developed the first acoustic suspension speaker, introduced the world’s first full range electrostatic speaker, launched the first-ever high-selectivity FM radio, and won an Emmy Award for the first large screen projection television for home use. For his innumerable contributions to the Consumer Electronics Industry Henry was one of the first inductees into the regaled CEA Hall of Fame, along with the likes of Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Ray Dolby, and Avery Fisher.
